Design Unlimited is currently developing the design of an innovative 50-metre motor yacht that introduces a vibrant lifestyle feel to the pleasures of being afloat, with a seamless integration of interior and exterior spaces.
The result is a visually striking yacht marked out by an environment that is filled with natural light and which delivers outstanding vistas of its surroundings.
The exterior styling is uncompromisingly modern and purposeful, yet its innate simplicity gives an elegance to the form that will not become dated over time. Generous deck spaces allow the owner and guests plenty of room for relaxation and socialising in the open air. The main saloon with its floor to ceiling windows makes it a virtual continuation of the aft deck while being well protected from the elements. At night the light from these windows and the geodesic sky lounge glazing will radiate out across the harbour, creating a dramatic effect that emphasises the yacht’s long, sweeping curves.
She is exceptionally spacious inside, with five large guest suites and a full width owner’s suite forward of the saloon featuring extensive yet subtle glazing that blends with the hull, whilst providing uninterrupted panoramic views from within.
The external features provide everything needed for an enjoyable weekend or longer cruise. For those looking for relaxation there is the choice of the main pool on the aft deck with its view down to the beach deck and bar, or alternatively the sunpads and spa pool on the upper deck above the wheel house. Guests in search of more energetic pursuits can head down to the lower deck for the gym and fitness area, as well as the generous garage with its tenders, dinghies and other water sports equipment. Zero speed stabilisation makes this a stable and comfortable platform for aquatic pursuits when at anchor or on a mooring.
This yacht is also designed to be highly resource efficient with discreet solar panels for silent power generation and a range of recycling systems to minimise water and energy consumption. These features together with an easily driven hull deliver improved fuel economy and an extended cruising range.
While initial interest is in a 50-metre version falling within the 500GT threshold, the design and styling allow for flexible interpretation. A 75-metre model would magnify all the lifestyle benefits while allowing more space for family and friends and an even greater variety of amenities.
