Pendennis announces delivery of 35m expedition-style motor yacht FOX
The pioneering new 35m expedition-style motor yacht FOX was delivered in the Spring of 2024.
Proudly British, FOX hails from the drawing boards of Q London, with Falmouth-based shipyard Pendennis in charge of her engineering and construction. Burgess has been working with the team since inception and is excited to see her out on the water.
Ian Sherwood, broker, Burgess, says ‘It is fantastic to witness her maiden voyage down to the Mediterranean. As her delivery was eagerly anticipated, we are certain that she will be well regarded by all those she encounters.’
As a compact explorer, FOX is going to entice a new breed of adventure traveler. She is ideal for those seeking an alternative to the traditional milk run and therefore will be highly popular with those searching for something different. She will spend summer 24 in the Mediterranean before joining the prestigious line up in the Autumn superyacht show series starting at the Cannes Yachting Festival – where we expect her to be the highlight.
It is no coincidence that MY FOX takes her name from one of Falmouth's most famous inventors Robert Were Fox the Younger. A 19th-century scientist who enabled exploration by inventing a compass that measured magnetic dip at sea in high latitudes, a compass that ultimately guided the expedition that discovered the South Pole.
FOX’s steel hull and aluminum superstructure are built to RINA commercial classification. The yacht benefits from a robust Pendennis designed and built engineering platform, which is overlaid by a Mivan interior. Guests can expect a bright and airy style which includes a full beam main deck master suite and a further four ensuite cabins. The contrast of the external shape to the light and modern interior is a pleasant surprise – as are the ceiling heights, allowing an unexpected and unusual feeling of space for a yacht of this size.
Her striking exterior design is muscular and practical, with strong angular lines accentuated by a pristine light grey hull and white superstructure. A distinctive external feature on board is the vast 103.5sqm Tesumo aft deck complete with a DJ decks and sound system, bar area, room for two 7.5m tenders or whichever combination of toys, submersibles and even ATVs or a vehicle an owner chooses.
Pendennis MD Toby Allies said of MY FOX’s departure “The project is the latest in a long line of truly custom new build deliveries by Pendennis, the team that has worked so hard on her during the project have created a sleek, modern and unfussy engineering platform that will allow the yacht to explore every corner of the globe.”
