Story
Originally built by Vitters Shipyard in 1998, Dardanella is a 36.9m (121ft) exploration-type yacht designed by Vripack Naval Architects, loosely based upon traditional deep-sea, well-deck trawlers.
Dardanella has visited Pendennis more than once for refit work. Her first short refit was in 2009, and following this the vessel arrived at Pendennis in December 2010 to commence a more detailed series of works over a four month period. Interior and structural changes were quite significant for such a short visit: a new wet room was added to the bridge deck to give more flexible pilot berth accommodation alongside reconfiguration of the ship’s office and conversion of the Owner’s shower to a steam room.
Various engineering projects including fitting new Northern Light generators and an upgrade of the switchboards. Exterior work saw the inclusion of a Jacuzzi on the sun deck and the addition of an insulation screen enclosure on the aft main deck for more comfortable cruising experience in higher latitudes (double skinned and heated). The project was completed by a new coat of antifoul before she departed at the end of April 2011.
