Further details on the rebuild of the newly extended 74.5m MY LADY E were revealed this week by UK superyacht specialists Pendennis. The update follows her recent launch from the company’s dry dock in mid-September. In partnership with the Owner’s team, Pendennis has transformed several areas on the yacht, bringing the Owner’s vision for a significantly enhanced guest experience to life.
Stern Extension: The most dramatic transformation is a 6m (20 feet) stern extension providing balance to the side profile of the yacht and modernising the appearance of the vessel. The extension houses a 66m2 beach club featuring a large comfortable seating area complete with a 77” plasma TV, a fully equipped bar, and wall mounted storage for a wide range of wake, surf, foil and e-foil boards – a particular focus of the yacht’s charter program. The transom door, three times the size of the original, opens to a full beam swim platform with actuated swim stairs leading guests into the water. Natural light fills the space from the entrances at both ends, a main deck skylight and 6 starboard and portside windows.
In addition to the beach club’s interior space, the extension has increased the living space on the aft main deck by 55sqm. A particular feature of the extension is the uninterrupted panoramic view through the glass panel framing the aft deck, overlooking the vessel’s unique watersports platform. An aft seating area and separate sun pad, with sunshade and sun umbrellas, completes the furnishings. Both areas are finished with “nightclub” specification audio and lighting systems for evening events.
New Spa and Hamman: Moving through the yacht, the upper galley and pantry has been completely transformed into a new health and wellbeing suite. Designed by Exclusive Living, the new suite will provide guests with increased comfort and an extensive service offering dedicated massage, pedicure & manicure and hair & make-up areas, as well as new dedicated shower facilities. To compliment this area the Owners upgraded the yacht’s existing sauna with a new Hammam steam room and new day head for the BBQ deck.
New AV/IT: Pendennis and VBH rewired the entire yacht with 5 kilometres of modern data cabling. The re-cabling complemented enhanced visual and sound upgrades throughout the yacht, in particular new 77-85 inch screens throughout the guest areas and nightclub specification sound and lighting systems. The entire guest interface via the onboard iPad system has been redesigned on a bespoke platform for LADY E. The new electronics have also incorporated major upgrades to the operation of the yacht including the power management and alarm management systems, radar, mapping and general bridge deck systems.
New Power System: Three generators have been replaced with Scania DI13 units complete with SCR systems to comply with IMO tier 3 guidelines for cleaner yacht emissions. Additionally, HUG DPF systems have also been installed to further reduce particulate emissions and comply with NOx and SOx MARPOL regulations. Pendennis engineers worked with TESS Electric to further upgrade LADY E with the installation of new power management and alarm management systems.
Engineering: Both main engines have been overhauled and service work has been completed on all major engineering systems both within the engine room and external to the yacht including the chiller plant, gearbox, shafts, rudders and stabilisers and the installation of new propellers. The entire hydraulic systems of the yacht have been refurbished and upgraded including the tender garages and aft, port and starboard passerelles.
New Exterior: LADY E’s sleek new profile has benefited from the application of a topcoat on her exterior bulwarks and UV exposed areas with Pendennis working in partnership with Pinmar to complete her transformation. Pendennis’ carpenters laid new teak decking to the stern, main deck, pool deck and sun deck areas and re-painted LADY E’s pool.

LADY E entered the Pendennis shipyard as one of the leading charter yachts globally and is now leaving with unrivalled luxury, entertainment features and AV/IT technology, as well as engineering reliability and safety.”
Toby Allies, Joint MD at Pendennis backed this up; “Here at Pendennis we are very proud of what’s been achieved on the LADY E project. The scale and scope of the project has meant that all of our in-house specialist teams were called upon during the course of the yacht’s time at the yard. LADY E will be embarking on her world tour in 2021 starting in Australia, followed by New Zealand and the South Pacific before relocating to the Caribbean and Bahamas by the autumn of 2021. Her new rates will be:
